Wedges

Wedges are a key component of post-tensioning systems

Wedges

Wedges are used to secure the PT cables to the anchorage assembly. They serve an essential role in transmitting tension from the cables to the construction framework. It usually made of steel or alloys.

Wedges are designed to sustain the tension created during tensioning without deforming or failing. During the post-tensioning process, the PT cables are fed through the wedges within the anchoring. As tension is applied to the cables, the wedges hold them tightly, preventing slippage and ensuring appropriate force transfer to the concrete.
